Governor: Delay In Bridge Report Necessary

A statement from Governor Dan McKee's office says the engineering firm conducting a forensic analysis of the Washington Bridge requires more time to complete their work.

The consultants are examining the history of the bridge's westbound span, which was closed in December, and now will require demolition and replacement.

The examination includes a look at historical documents that date back to the bridge's construction in 1968.

A spokesperson said an outside legal team will be hired to recoup any potential financial losses from responsible parties.
