Reform In Police Misconduct Investigations Sought

The R.I. League of Cities and Towns wants state lawmakers to agree on how they can reform the Law Enforcement Officers' Bill of Rights.

The League formed a working group on reforming the LEOBOR back in 2020, but lawmakers have not been able to agree on a final bill.

There are three bills that would make changes in the law on how police misconduct is investigated and disciplined.

In a statement on X, municipal leaders say they look forward to working with the General Assembly to get crucial LEOBOR reforms over the finish line.
