The suspect wanted for an assault and kidnapping in Massachusetts has been taken into custody in Rhode Island.
Forty-one-year-old Jamaine Johnson allegedly choked his girlfriend in a domestic incident, stole her car and took off with their six-month-old child.
He reportedly threatened to harm himself and the child.
Overnight Tuesday, Rhode Island State Police spotted the stolen car in Providence and Johnson was arrested after a brief struggle.
The child was unharmed. Johnson faces charges that include assaulting a police officer, domestic assault and battery, kidnapping and larceny of a motor vehicle.
