Things are slowly returning to normal at the Newport YMCA today. Officials say a malfunction in the steam room malfunctioned injuring a 58-year-old woman.
She is going to be ok.
“The Women’s Locker-room, downstairs bathrooms and the spin room will remain closed. The restoration company will be working in those areas for the next couple of days to assess the water damage. Due to the closing of the women’s locker-room we ask that you use the Universal Locker-room. Both steam rooms will be closed until further notice as we determine the cause of the incident,” according to CEO Mike Miller.
Miller says there will be restricted areas while repairs are made.
