Middletown Property Tax Hike For Some

Property taxes will go up 30 percent on July 1st for non-resident owners and rental properties in Middletown.

The Town Council approved a resolution on a 6-1 vote.

Critics argued it will impact affordability for renters and businesses.

Supporters said it will benefit the majority of residents who own their homes and can't pass on tax increases the way landlords can to tenants.
