Dangerously hot temperatures are expected in Rhode Island for the next few days.
A heat advisory will be in effect today with heat index values that may climb as high as 102 degrees.
An excessive heat watch will be in effect on Tuesday when the heat index could reach as high as 107 degrees.
All residents should take precautions during the heat by drinking plenty of water and staying in air-conditioned locations if possible.
People should also check on their elderly neighbors and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles
