The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will be taking in cats and dogs from a Texas shelter that was affected by Hurricane Beryl.
The 13 dogs and 40 cats will be housed at RISPCA's Amaral Street location which will mostly be staffed by Humane Emergency Animal Response Team volunteers.
The animals are expected to arrive sometime today, and they should be ready for adoption by the end of the month.
