RIDOH Confirms West Nile In Pawtucket Sample

The Rhode Island Department of Health has confirmed West Nile Virus has been found in a mosquito sample in Pawtucket.

The report says the positive sample was collected July 15th.

There were nearly 30 traps set statewide and 190 samples collected.

To help protect against mosquito bites make sure to eliminate any standing water in your yard, clean bird baths or pet water bowls daily, avoid the outdoors during sunrise and sunset when mosquitoes are active.

When you are out use an insect repellent that contains DEET.
