Porch Pirate Confronted By Postal Worker

A Providence mail carrier was threatened with a knife after confronting an alleged package thief on Monday afternoon.

The U.S. postal worker told police he had just dropped off a couple of packages on Belleview Street when he saw a man taking the parcels.

The postal worker told the suspect to put the packages back, but he pulled a knife and told the mail carrier to move, or he would be stabbed.

Police say the suspect fled the scene.
