Poll Workers Sought For Upcoming Election Cycle

The Rhode Island Department of State is putting out the call for residents who want to be poll workers in the November general election.

Officials say poll workers are a critical part of the election process, and they play a vital role in making sure everything runs smoothly for voters.

In order to work at a polling place, residents must be a registered voter in Rhode Island, able to read the Constitution of the state in English and be able to write their own name.

Cities and towns are responsible for recruiting people to work at the local polls, but the State Board of Elections trains the workers.
