Warwick Police are announcing the passing of a veteran retired police Captain.
Michael Forde died late Friday after a long battle with cancer.
Police say he was a 30-year veteran of the department.
He was also a member of the Swat team for 13 years.
According to a statement by Warwick Police: “Everyone who had the good fortune of working with and knowing Mike knew him as a caring and genuine person. A friend who was always there for you, always caring about everyone else even when he was struggling himself. He shared good humor and a big smile with everyone he met. Mike truly was one of the “nicest guys” you could meet”
Funeral arrangements have not been released yet.
