Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran is apologizing for his choice of words directed at a fan during Sunday's blowout loss to Houston.
In the sixth inning, with the Sox down 10-0, Duran was up to bat when a fan heckled him.
Duran reportedly told the fan to "shut up" and directed a homophobic slur at him.
After the 10-2 loss, Duran addressed the situation, saying he feels "awful knowing how many people (he) offended and disappointed" apologizing to the organization and to the LGBTQ community.
