RIDOT Closing Two Lanes On I-95 During Two Weekends In September

The Rhode Island Department Transportation is giving drivers a heads-up about some upcoming road work.

RIDOT will be closing two lanes on Interstate 95 South near Exit 34 during two weekends in September for the "rapid replacement" of the Elmwood Avenue Bridge.

The closures will take place over the weekends of September 13th and 20th and will begin at 8 p.m. on Fridays.

All lanes expected to be open by 5 on Monday morning.

The work will include the full closure of Elmwood Avenue at the I-95 overpass along with lane splits beginning on September 11th.

Drivers should use alternate routes like Route 10 and Interstate 295.
