The defense team in the Alexandra Eckersley case is seeking a new trial.
Eckersley stood trial earlier this year, and was found guilty on three charges connected to the abandonment of her newborn child in December of 2022.
Defense attorneys have filed a request for a new trial, and to overturn charges in the case.
They claim Eckersley was led to believe her child had died, and that their client suffered from mental health issues.
Prosecutors have countered that Eckersley changed her story and deliberately misled emergency personnel about the location of her newborn son.
Eckersley faces sentencing in October.
