Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee expects to meet with Hasbro executives by the end of the week in an effort to keep the company from moving its headquarters out of Pawtucket.
The governor says the state will do everything it can to maintain Hasbro.
WPRI12 has confirmed that Massachusetts Governor. Maura Healey's economic team informally met with Hasbro executives who are exploring a possible move to the Boston area.
Meantime, legislative leaders say they will do what is necessary to keep the iconic company right where it is.
They contend that the cost of living and taxes are so high in Massachusetts that it wouldn't make sense for the company to leave.
