CVS Health is laying off 29-hundred employees nationwide, including an unspecified number in Rhode Island.
CVS indicates that the number of layoffs will become clearer when it files the required 60 day notice of a mass layoff with the state in the coming days.
Officials say the job cuts will mostly involve corporate workers, not those in stores or distribution centers.
Changing consumer trends and demands seen as one of the contributing factors.
The company employs some 300 thousand people nationwide.
