Rhode Island Democratic Senator Jack Reed has issued a statement following the Iranian missile attack against Israel.
The Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee says he is condemning the "violent, provocative" attack and he salutes the Israeli and American forces who worked together to shoot down the missiles.
Reed says Iran must immediately cease its attack and have its proxy militias stand down to avoid a broader war that nobody wants.
He says the U.S. will continue to stand alongside and assist Israel as it works to defend itself. He also urges Israeli leaders to act with "prudence and wisdom."
