The Exeter-West Greenwich High School community is mourning the sudden passing of a teacher.
Principal Susan Chandler sent a letter to school families Tuesday to inform them that Lee Stetson had died. She wrote that she met with students and shared the very sad and painful news that the school community lost a very beloved teacher Monday night. Chandler says Mr. Stetson was the school's Spanish teacher, basketball coach, colleague and friend. She says he had a heart of gold and smile that was shared with anyone he came in contact with. West Greenwich Police are also paying tribute to Mr Stetson:
"Lee was one of a kind, he had a heart of gold, impacting the lives of all that came into contact with him. He was a true community leader, advocating for his students, coaching basketball, and participating in numerous extra curricular activities."
The school is offering support for all students.
