Tyrese Poulsen has pleaded guilty in the 2021 stabbing death of 22-year-old Maximus Julian at a Newport rental property.
Poulson's manslaughter plea came Wednesday, just before jury selection was set to begin in his murder trial.
The stabbing happened over the Memorial Day weekend when a dispute between the men turned violent.
Poulson has been sentenced to 30-years in prison with credit for the time served following his 2021 arrest.
