Governor Dan McKee says two companies will be selected this week, to compete for the Washington Bridge rebuild.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation received four bids to rebuild the westbound side of the bridge last month after no initial proposals were submitted in July.
Halmar International LLC and Walsh Construction Company II, LLC have submitted documents and there were joint submissions from American Bridge and MLJ; and Skanska and Aetna.
The final selection is expected in June.
