The driver who crashed into an East Greenwich building on Wednesday night has been arrested.
David Hickey is charged with DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, obstruction and duty to stop in an accident resulting in injury. Police say Hickey and a passenger fled from the scene after the Division Street crash, leaving a third person unconscious in the vehicle.
East Greenwich police, a State Police K-9 unit and drone searched the area, and investigators say when Hickey was found he was covered in a powdery substance believed to be fentanyl.
During the search, the State Police K9 was exposed to the substance and Narcan was administered Narcan. Hickey is scheduled to appear in court on September 22nd.
