The National Transportation Safety Board has released a preliminary report on the Block Island plane crash that killed one person on July 30th.
According to the report, the plane left from Albany with full flaps but when the pilot attempted to land, the right wing lifted due to a gust of wind and there was not enough runway to attempt a go-around.
The plane crashed in thick brush and a legislator from Montgomery County New York was killed.
The pilot was seriously injured.
A final report on the crash could take up to two years.
