Rhode Island AG Warns residents About Junk Health plans

Attorney General Peter Neronha is warning Rhode Islanders about junk health plans.

He says the limited benefit plans may appear to provide health insurance coverage, but they do not provide the same coverage as regulated health insurance plans.

Neronha says with open enrollment underway, Rhode Islanders may see more ads promoting fake or low-value health insurance plans and consumers should educate themselves before making any health insurance purchases.

Anyone who believes they have purchased a junk plan they should contact the Attorney General's Office.
