(Providence, RI) -- The State Attorney General's Office is advising people about the latest scam that starts with a call to your phone. When you pick up the scammer on the other end will ask if you can hear them and by responding "yes" they have recorded your voice and use that to sign up for third party services and charge them to your phone bill. So the next time you get a call and they ask "Can you hear me?" just hang up.
