I'M READY FOR MY CLOSE UP PRESIDENT TRUMP

Awards shows have long been peppered with political hot air over the years...remember Sacheen Little Feather accepting Marlon Brando's Best Actor Award in 1970 protesting the treatment of indians in movies? How about 1978's Best Supporting Actress winner  Vanessa Redgrave going off  on "Zionist Hoodlums" and during the Viet Nam War era it seemed every other award winner went off on a political diatribe. Well, this year it's reached critical mass with the anti-Trump rants at the Golden Globes, SAG awards and GRAMMYS. Don't expect things to tone down at the 89th Academy Awards a week from Sunday especially since ratings for those awards shows have spiked this season. Word is the producers of the Oscars are reportedly encouraging the beautiful  people to crank up the political rhetoric. I'm not a fan of awards shows and usually avoid them like the plague with the exception of the Oscars because I'm a big movie fan. I'll watch it...but on DVR so I can zip thru the pomposity. My favorite awards show remains the Westminster Dog Show because NONE of the winners can speak.
