(Johnston, RI) -- One person is dead and two others injured after a crash on Interstate-295 near the Johnston-Smithfield border. The crash happened around 10 a.m. yesterday, when a car, tow truck and box truck were in the northbound center lane when there was a chain reaction crash. State police say the driver of the box truck from New York City was pronounced dead and a passenger was taken to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tow truck and car suffered non-life threatening injuries.
