(North Smithfield, RI) -- The Slatersville Stone Arch Bridge in North Smithfield will be closing next month for rehabilitation. The bridge that carries Route 5 over the Branch River has been declared structurally deficient for the past ten years. The project involves restoring and reinforcing the stone arches that support the historical bridge that was built back in 1855.
