(Providence, RI) -- Care New England is reporting an operating loss of 40-million-dollars so far in its fiscal year. While Rhode Island's number-two hospital group says the largest losses are at Women & Infants and Memorial hospitals, Butler and Kent hospitals and its Visiting Nurse Association are also operating at a loss. Care New England recently announced plans to merge with Massachusetts-based Partners HealthCare, and sell Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket to Prime Healthcare, which owns Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.
