Rhode Island House Passes Paid Sick Leave Bill

(Providence, RI)  --  The Rhode Island House is passing a paid sick leave bill that is a bit different from the one that was approved by the State Senate earlier this week.  The Senate passed a version of the bill on Wednesday.  That bill would require businesses with at least eleven-employees to provide four paid sick days in 2018 and five paid sick days annually in the following years.  The House version of the bill that was passed last night would require businesses with at least 18-workers to provide three paid sick days in 2018, four in 2019 and five each year after that.  The House and Senate will now work together to come up with a compromise in order to send a bill to the governor's desk.
