GALLISON GOES TO HIS GATED COMMUNITY

Convicted felon and former RI House Finance Chairman Ray Gallison reported to the Devens Federal Medical Center in Ayer, Massachusetts yesterday to start his 51 month sentence. Gallison was senetenced to more than four years in prison last month after pleading guilty to nine federal counts, including identity theft, filing false documents with the IRS and wire and mail fraud. Gallison also stole $678,000 from the estate of a dead client and another $9 grand from the trust of a disabled person and lying to the IRS about how money was used by his taxpayer funded non profit. Devens Medical Center has a little over one thousand inmates housed in two separate facilities. Gallison will be assigned to a minimum security camp holding about 100 individuals. Other high profile Rhode Islanders who have served time at Devens include Anthony THE SAINT St. Laurent and Plunderdome stars Richard Autiello and Buddy Cianci top aid Frank Corrente. Gallison is the latest RI lawmaker to be put behind bars and his sentence begins the very week the popular podcast CRIMETOWN brings its live show to the Columbus Theatre.
