Providence Parents Will Have To Sign Off On Graduation Policy

(Providence, RI)  --  Parents of Providence high school students will have to sign off that they understand the city's minimum standards for graduation may not give them a ticket to college.  The school board is considering reducing the number of credits students need to graduate from 21 to 20 and removing the foreign language requirement for elective courses.  A number of Rhode Island colleges require two years of a foreign language before admission.  The new graduation policy will align it with the state's minimum standards.
