TWO RI LAWMAKERS WANT RESIDENTS TO PAY FOR FREE PORN

Free online porn wouldn't actually be free for Rhode Island residents if some state lawmakers have their way. Two Democratic state senators, Frank Ciccone and Hanna Gallo, have proposed legislation intended to protect minors from online porn that would require internet service providers to block porn sites to Rhode Island customers unless they pay a one-time fee of $20, provide proof that they are at least 18 years old, and make the request to unblock the content in writing. The money from the $20 fee would go to state fund that would be used to help fight human trafficking. Free porn in the state is probably safe, however, since it's unlikely that the bill will pass...even if it did, it's highly unlikely it would pass accusations of censorship. Points, however, for thinking out of the box for state revenues!
