(Providence, RI) -- Providence Mayor Elorza says an ordinance approved by city council that would ban single-use plastic bags needs more community input. The mayor vetoed the measure yesterday, saying he wants to avoid putting a burden on low-income residents. The ordinance would fine retailers using single-use plastic bags. Council can override Elorza's veto with ten of 15 council members.
