Rhode Island House Passes Kristen's Law

(Providence, RI)  --  A controversial law that would allow for a sentence of up to life in prison for dealers who sell drugs that lead to fatal overdoses is one step closer to Governor Gina Raimondo's desk.House lawmakers passed Kristen's Law, named for a woman who died from a fentanyl overdose, 55-to-14 on Thursday. The legislation will need to go back to the Senate because an amendment was added to the House-approved version.
