Surveillance Tapes In Carnevale Case Are Gone

(Providence, RI)  --  Rhode Island State Police lost or destroyed extensive amounts of undercover surveillance footage in a criminal case against former state representative John Carnevale. That accusation was made by Carnevale's attorney in a motion filed in Superior Court last week. A grand jury indicted Carnevale in 2017 on perjury charges after he allegedly lied to the Providence Board of Canvassers about where he lived. Police had set up cameras on a telephone pole outside the Providence residence in question.
