(Portsmouth, RI) -- Portsmouth, Rhode Island and Portsmouth, England are coming together this week. The Newport Daily News reports Lee Mason, the lord mayor of Portsmouth, U.K., is expected to arrive in Rhode Island on Thursday and be here through the weekend. Mason is scheduled to visit the Statehouse and historic sites in Portsmouth, plus attend the United States-England polo match in the town. Mason then plans on visiting Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Portsmouth, Virginia before ending his trip.
