Work-To-Rule Starting For Providence Teachers

(Providence, RI)  --  Unionized Providence teachers are moving forward with plans to "work-to-rule."  The teachers voted earlier this week to authorize the practice, which means they will do the minimum amount of work required by their contract, if negotiations that took place on Thursday didn't yield a concrete proposal from the city.  No agreement was reached during the meeting yesterday, but teachers' union president Maribeth Calabro says two more negotiations sessions have been scheduled, which she considers a step in the right direction.
