Disabled Cruise Ship Inspected In Newport

(Newport, RI)  --  A cruise ship was sent on its way on Saturday after becoming disabled off the Elizabeth Islands of Massachusetts on Friday afternoon.  The Coast Guard says it responded with the Buzzards Bay Task Force to the "Star Pride" vessel, which reportedly lost power about two miles away from Cuttyhunk during a scheduled trip to Manhattan.  The ship reportedly regained power about an hour-and-a-half after it lost it and was ordered to moor up in Newport for an inspection before it could continue the trip.  The ship had about 350 people on board.
