Arlington National Cemetery Honors Rhode Island Lighthouse Keeper

(Arlington, VA)  --  Arlington National Cemetery is honoring a Rhode Island woman.  The cemetery said earlier this month that a new street sign was dedicated to Ida Lewis, who is the first female and first representative of the U.S. Coast Guard to receive such an honor.  Lewis was a 19th-century lighthouse keeper in Newport who was known for performing numerous rescues.  The dedication is part of the military cemetery's expansion project.
