Charges Filed Against Men Connected To Auto Dealership

(Providence, RI)  --  Three men are being charged with collecting over 150-thousand dollars in illegal fees from customers at a former Providence car dealership.  Rhode Island State Police reports indicate Anthony Pate and Thomas Palangio of Cranston, listed as the owner and general manager of Douglas Auto Sales, respectively, and employee Bruce Rogers of East Providence, all have been arrested after an investigation revealed 31 customers were allegedly fleeced.  Palangio is a former state representative, while Rogers is the former mayor of East Providence.  The state Motor Vehicles Dealers and License and Hearing Board revoked the Douglas operating license in July and referred the case to authorities.
