Bus Strike Stretches To Fourth Day

(Providence, RI)  --  No new talks between the two sides of the Providence Public Schools bus drivers' strike are scheduled moving forward as the strike enters its fourth day on Tuesday.  The school district had said that student absences or lateness would be excused for the first three days of the strike, although Superintendent Chris Maher said at Monday's Providence City Council meeting that the policy may be revisited due to the anticipated length of the work stoppage.  Maher also said yesterday that many parents with children with disabilities will get reimbursed for transportation.
