Prison Time For Valentine's Day Bank Robbery

(Providence, RI)  --  A Providence man is being sentenced to nearly four years in prison for robbing a bank on Valentine's Day last year.  Efrain Delacruz previously admitted to a federal court that he entered a Santander Bank on Elmgrove Avenue and demanded cash, according to the U.S. Justice Department.  Prosecutors say Delacruz dropped half the money he had received, tried to recover it but was unsuccessful, then led police on a chase that lasted over six miles, striking as many as seven vehicles before being arrested.  He was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison yesterday.
