New Jersey Mom Helped Prevent Kentucky School Shooting

A mother from New Jersey is being hailed as a hero after she helped stop a potential school shooting in Kentucky. Koeberle Bull received a series of hate-filled messages on Facebook from a man she did not know and became so concerned because of the vile things he said about her and the fact that he was holding a gun in his profile photo that she contacted the Kentucky State Police.

The account belonged to a man named Dylan Jarrell, who lived halfway across the country in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Bull said that she does not know how the man found her on Facebook. In the messages, he spewed hateful and racist comments about Bull and her three children.

"I was angry that someone could even think that way about three beautiful children," Bull told FOX29.

The Kentucky State Police launched an investigation and sent officers to speak with Jarrell at his home. They arrived just in time because the 21-year-old was pulling out of his driveway, allegedly on his way to commit a school shooting.

Inside the vehicle, officers found a gun, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a kevlar vest and a "detailed plan of attack." When they searched his home, they discovered he had looked online for information on committing a school shooting.

“There is no doubt in my mind that as a result of this investigation we saved lives,” Commissioner Rick Sanders said in a news conference. “This young man had it in his mind to go to schools and create havoc. He had the tools necessary, the intent necessary, and the only thing standing between him and evil and doing evil is law enforcement."

Jarrell was charged with making terroristic threats and harassing communications. He remains locked up in Shelby County Detention Center.
