Flags Half-Staff For PA Shooting, Vigil Scheduled

(Providence, RI)  --  Governor Gina Raimondo is ordering flags to be flown at half-staff at state buildings until sunset on Tuesday in honor of the victims of the deadly shooting at a Jewish synagogue in Pittsburgh.  Raimondo says in a statement that no one should have to fear violence at their place of worship, and that she is praying for leaders in Washington to finally take action and do something about gun violence.  The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island and the Board of Rabbis of Greater Rhode Island are hosting a community-wide prayer and action vigil on Monday at the alliance on Elmgrove Avenue in Providence, starting at 5:45 p.m.
