Westerly's New Police Chief Sworn In

(Westerly, RI)  --  The town of Westerly's new police chief is officially on the job.  The Westerly Sun reports Shawn Lacey was sworn in before a standing-room-only crowd on Monday.  Lacey was passed up for the job in 2016 following the retirement of Edward St. Clair, and the police union protested the hiring of former West Warwick Chief Richard Silva for the position until Silva resigned last month.
