(Stonington, CT) -- A driver was uninjured after he apparently drove off the road and into the Pawcatuck River overnight Tuesday. The Westerly Police Department says the vehicle had gone in from the Stonington side, and a restaurant employee who was outside helped the driver, identified as Andreas Barbero of Wall, New Jersey, out of the river, according to a report from the Westerly Sun. Other media reports have indicated the driver was from Providence and is facing DUI charges.
