(Warwick, RI) -- More details are available about the woman arrested in connection to the death of a nine-year-old girl who had cerebral palsy. Michelle Rothgeb of Warwick was picked up on a charge of cruelty or neglect of a child and was held on 25-thousand-dollars' bail after a District Court appearance on Monday. Court documents indicate Rothgeb, the adoptive mother of the girl and seven other special-needs children, said she had the flu, and left the children in the care of her 15-year-old grandson at their home. The girl, identified as Zah-Nae in a report from The Providence Journal, was reportedly found lying face-down in a bathtub by the grandson who had put her in for a typical bath earlier this month. Warwick police said the home was in squalid condition.
