Vineyard Wind Makes Compensation Offer To RI Fishermen

(Undated)  --  Vineyard Wind, the company that is proposing an offshore wind farm to help power the state of Massachusetts, is making an offer to compensate Rhode Island fishermen.  The Providence Journal reports the company is offering to pay six-point-two-million dollars to fishermen to make up for lost access to fishing grounds, and is also proposing the creation of a 23-million-dollar fund to research new gear and fishing technology to be able to fish safely around wind turbines.  The state Fishermen's Advisory Board, which received the offer on Wednesday, is expected to vote on it at a meeting on January 28th.
