(Warwick, RI) -- A Connecticut youth baseball coach is under arrest for allegedly soliciting a teenager to engage in sexual activity at a hotel in Warwick. Rhode Island State Police reports indicate Christopher Merchant of Canterbury was arrested on Friday and was found to have child pornography on his cell phone. State police say Merchant is a vice president and coach with the Plainfield Little League in Connecticut. At this time, authorities say there is no evidence of any involvement with members of that organization.
