Snow Blankets State, Then Partially Washed Away By Rain

(Undated)--Rhode Island started off as a winter wonderland on Tuesday before the snow transitioned into wetter weather. The National Weather Service says four inches of snow fell in Burrillville and a measurement of about three inches came in from West Warwick. The snow, which started falling in the Providence area around noon, turned into sleet, which turned into freezing rain, and then eventually rain, which continued to fall into the overnight hours.Rhode Island State Police reportedly responded to several-dozen crashes throughout the state through late last night, but no one was reported to have suffered any life-threatening injuries.
